Local Flora

The Moon Unit

September 21

Doors: 8:00 pm /

Show: 9:00 pm

Local Flora:
Local Flora was born out of a desire to play jam-inspired psychedelic rock and make people dance. The Chapel Hill band draws on a wide variety of influences, including artists like Tame Impala, Toro y Moi, Real Estate, and Mac Demarco, as well as the improvisational style of jam bands like the Grateful Dead, Phish, and Umphrey’s McGee.

The Moon Unit:
Deep down in the depths of forgotten dreams….there were only three moon beams. B rant beef blasts peasants with the low end. C greezy soars higher than the eye can see. K daddy spanks skins greasier than a forgotten bratwurst. This makes up the Moon Unit. With influences from electro-funk to jazz to rock The Moon Unit combines crisp riffs with climactic grooves to allow everyone the ability to get down whilst experiencing sonic indulgence. The band started back in the days of Obama as a trio of homies from the same neighborhood and still continues to this day with the same lineup. Their ever-evolving sound will lend amusement to anyone able to listen so come check it out!
