Underground Springhouse, Satellite Dog

“More of the good, less of the bad.” That’s the motto upon which Underground Springhouse have built their sound and style. Exploring reggae, country, and funk influences within a rock ‘n roll context, Springhouse has crafted a genre-bending catalog that takes listeners from beaches to back roads with ear-worm hooks and head-bobbing grooves.         Their debut single, “Joyfell” (2018), has caught the ears of listeners around the country, galvanizing the band to become the touring and recording machine that they are today. Springhouse has since released a full length album, “Underground Springhouse” (2021), and two EPs, “Tom Foolery” (2019) and “I Recall” (2023), as well as a number of one-off singles. Their most recent EP, “I Recall,” features five new songs and showcases the band’s honing of their songwriting craft. On certain tracks the group explores newer influences like bluegrass and Americana, while on others they expand on more familiar styles like reggae and funk. All the while, the band stays true to their motto and their sound by including sing-along choruses and dance-worthy rhythms across the EP.   The band’s consistent recording output and dedicated touring schedule have helped grow their audience from a college town phenomenon into a frenetic mass of music lovers, particularly in the Southeast and along the East Coast, where Springhouse has headlined such venues as Athens’ Georgia Theatre, Nashville’s Exit/In, Birmingham’s Avondale Brewing, New York’s Brooklyn Bowl, D.C.’s Pearl Street Warehouse, Asheville’s Salvage Station, and Atlanta’s Terminal West. Fans should expect the unexpected at a Springhouse concert as no two shows look the same. The band’s fondness for improvisation and segues, and use of mashups and surprise covers make each show a unique experience, and keep fans coming back night after night.         Members Charlie Haas (guitar/vocals), Jackson Thompson (bass/vocals), Max Motley (keyboard/vocals) & Mitch Davidson (guitar/vocals) met in Athens, Georgia while students at the University of Georgia. The band’s lineup solidified with the addition of Jonny Thompson (drums/vocals) in June of 2023. Underground Springhouse is a product of Athens’ renowned music scene, slowly evolving as the group grew from a dorm room project into the polished outfit they are today.   Website | Instagram | Facebook | YouTube   Satellite Dog is a Psych-Groove band from North Carolina. Hiss Golden Messenger Solo Plays “Bad Debt” and other favorites

This is a seated show.   In 2010, M.C. Taylor—leader, songwriter and singer of Hiss Golden Messenger—sat down at his kitchen table and started writing and recording the songs that would eventually become his beloved album Bad Debt. At the time, the songwriter was living in a drafty cedar cabin in the woods outside of Pittsboro, North Carolina with his wife and three-month old son Elijah, having recently moved across the country from California. Taylor was, for all intents and purposes, out of the music game.   While his child slept, Taylor wrote and sang his finished compositions into a cassette tape recorder, voice and guitar in the same intimate moment. As songs began to coalesce—intimate meditations on labor and joy and love and the heartbreaking, confounding fullness of life—Taylor shared them with his closest friends, feeling as though he had found something special. He had 200 copies of the album pressed on vinyl, created the artwork himself, and sold them out of the trunk of his car. When those copies sold, he pressed and sold another 200. These early, hand-wrought versions have become sought-after relics.   Bad Debt was the name Taylor gave to the deep and vulnerable collection of songs he wrote at his kitchen table; it went on to be profiled in the New Yorker, the Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Uncut Magazine, and many other publications, paving the way for Hiss Golden Messenger’s critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated career.   In the fall of 2024, Taylor will play a series of solo shows during which he will perform Bad Debt in its entirety, in addition to songs from the rest of his celebrated catalog. Keep your ear to the ground.   Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

DWLLRS: Cameraman Tour

Feelings assume form in melodies, harmonies, and lyrics. DWLLRS render raw emotions, formative experiences, and late-night conversations about life, existence, and love as layered and lush alternative pop. The California duo—Bren Eisman and Joey Spurgeon—smooth down a shared penchant for overthinking into ponderous, potent, and powerful anthems. It’s the culmination of these feelings and their life experiences that make up their debut album, Cameraman.   “Joey and I overthink everything,” Bren admits. “It’s a large theme of our art. We’re trying to discover a hopeful belief system and worldview through the songs.”   Joey elaborates, “We’re two best friends existing in this dualistic reality of heartbreak, loss, death, and love as well as all of the inconsistencies and consistencies of life. We’re trying to find help; we’re trying to inspire love. We’re going to write sad songs to reference life’s dire moments, but our pursuit is to create beauty from the chaos.”   Instagram | Twitter | Facebook | Spotify | YouTube | Soundcloud | TikTok

Post Sex Nachos: The Minor League Tour

Post Sex Nachos have partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes to organizations working to provide reproductive health care and supporting the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ communities.   Post Sex Nachos ‘Your Second Favorite Boy Band’   From the depths of the Midwest alt rock scene arises a soulful and passionate quintet ready to bend genres and produce tunes that’ll make you jump, shake, and move: Post Sex Nachos. Charging into baEle for the love of the groove, these roller-coaster rockers are here to redefine the term “boy band” forever. Breathing new life into genres across the spectrum – from jazz, to pop, to straight up funk rock – Post Sex Nachos conKnuously reimagines the scope of what they can do with their art. Where most find a wall, they find a door, in a get-me-a-sledge-hammer-so- I-can-show-this-wall-a-thing-or-two kind of way.   Accompanied by two previously released singles, the Ktle track of their new “Keep Moving” EP is the themaKc culminaKon of the band’s last two years traversing the country and wriKng music for a world that can’t seem to get out of its own way. IngraKated with mesmerizing guitar riffs, synth leads that transport you to a hot sand beach on a scorching summer’s day, and bouncing rhythms that anyone can get lost inside of, their music paints a portrait of a group who’s unsure of what the future holds for them but are eager to find out anyways. A shout into the void, the “Keep Moving” EP unabashedly declares that the only thing you can do in a world full of uncertainty is to roll with the punches, keep your head up, and keep on moving.   Post Sex Nachos is (surprisingly) 100% Vegan, Organic, and Homemade.   Website | Instagram | Twitter | Facebook | Spotify
