Who We Are

Formerly known as the Durham Fruit and Produce Company, a century ago this 22,000sf warehouse complex housed giant coolers for fruits and veggies arriving by train. Today, The Fruit is a social enterprise dedicated to making and experiencing visual and performing arts that include dance, painting, photography, and drama.

What We Do

The Fruit exists ​to engage, inspire, entertain and challenge audiences. We are an art space with highly intentional visual and performing arts programming. We love hosting alternative and emerging artists among world class artists.

We are a great rental space for art exhibits, photo and video shoots, warehouse parties, music performances, weddings, theatre, group meetings, workshops, retreats, conferences, album releases, fundraisers, film screenings and a host of other events.

*Find us at the intersection of Dillard and Ramseur, near Durham Cider Works and before Ponysaurus, about four blocks east of DPAC and American Tobacco.

*During the work day there is free on-street parking in the area and there are a few spaces on-site.  Evening and weekend parking is available in the County Human Services lot across the street.
